    LIMA – CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO

    Enjoy a great breakfast at your family home or hotel in Lima. Then specific time to be arranged a private transfer to the airport where you will check in to your flight for Cusco – the Capital of the Incan Empire. Your guide and driver will pick you up from the airport in Cusco and embark upon a guided excursion through snowcapped mountains to the legendary Sacred Valley, as majestic today as it was during the reign of the Incas. Stop for a short explanation at the Awana Kancha indigenous and animal center. This living museum works with native communities making them self-sufficient by sharing their ancient ways of weaving and processing the alpaca wool. You will also love to get up close and personal to native llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicunas. We will stop along the way for a traditional lunch. You will see Inca terracing that climbs the steep valley walls and the beautiful temples of Pisac which inspire panoramic views of the jagged granite mountains. Pisac is the location for one of the best textile markets in the Andes. There, use your bargaining skills and enjoy the local culture before you reach Ollantaytambo. Check in, and then rest at the hotel. You are free to explore this ancient town – the only living Inca town that has been inhabited continuously since Incan times.

    Note: Ollantaytambo is lower than Cusco which is why we begin here to ease your acclimation to the altitude. (B,L)You will have the rest of the day free to relax and adjust to the altitude (8,856 ft). (B, L)

    MORAY RUINS, SALD MINES AND OLLANTAYTAMBO SITE

    After breakfast we begin our day boarding a private bus and drive for 45 minutes to stop and visit the circular terraces of Moray – the Navel of the Earth. At this sacred site we will feel the connection with the three worlds represented by the Condor, Puma and Snake sacred animals. See how our ancestors built an amphitheater-like structure to study different microclimates. We will also visit an amazing salt flats operation en route to Ollantaytambo, and for those who want to stretch their legs and get a little exercise, there is an opportunity to hike down into the valley for a while and meet up with the bus further down the road. Buffet Lunch at Tunupa Restaurant at the Sacred Valley. Then, the next stop is Ollantaytambo site (9,185 ft.), a small town with an impressive Inca fortress. For Another good night. (B, L)

    SACRED VALLEY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU

    This morning enjoy a walking after breakfast. Take the mid-morning train from Ollantaytambo along the trek to Machu Picchu. On the journey, you enjoy some of the highlights of our Peru ecotour along the Urubamba River and through a magnificent cloud forest to reach Aguas Calientes where a bus will take you the rest of the way to Machu Picchu (7,875 feet). Take the entire day to explore the famous ruins of this magnificent mountain citadel and then return in the late afternoon to nearby Aguas Calientes to soak in hot springs and enjoy a delicious dinner of regional cuisine included on the Price for your arrival to Peru.     MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO.

    Start the day with the unforgettable experience a Machu Picchu sunrise, the best time for photographing the ruins. Continue your explorations, climbing to the sacred peak of Huayna Picchu if is open or walking through cloud forest vegetation to reach the Temple of the Moon, the other option will be hike to the Gate of the Sun and the Incan bridge, lunch will be provide and Return to the train station for a ride back to Ollantaytambo where you will meet your private transportation who will take you to the Chincheros artisan market. Here, local artisans explain their craft of textile work, describing their traditional ways of shearing, processing, dyeing, and weaving from alpaca wool.(B, L)

    CUSCO CITY TOUR

    reakfast at the hotel starting at 6:00 am. Morning walk starting at 9:00 am. We will visit the famous local market of San Pedro. There is a huge diversity of products available. We will see the 12 square stones at Inca Roca Palace in Cusco. We will also visit the Temple of the Sun. After lunch visit Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay, Famous archeological sites around Cusco. (B,L)

    CUSCO FREE DAY ON YOU OWN AND TO LIMA

    Spend the day exploring the quaint streets of Cusco. Spend the morning at one of several artesanal markets – conveniently located on the main avenue – Avenida Del Sol. You may also enjoy one of the following museums: the Chocolate Museum (where you can make your own chocolates to take home!), Laura Museum of Tapestry Art, the Cusco Center of Native Arts, or the famous Museum of Pre-Colombian Art, to name a few. Explore the cobblestone streets and poke your head into ancient courtyards – you never know what you may find! Explore the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas with its little shops and cafes. Meet artists and artisans before you stop for a café on the Plaza de Armas, and if you are up to it, hike up to the huge statue Cristo Blanco (White Christ) that watches over the city – about 2 hours roundtrip. Cusco is a great place to do last minute shopping. (B)
